About Smart Money Answers
Straightforward money information for real life in the UK — no jargon, no hard sell.
Why we exist
Money is one of the biggest sources of stress for UK households — yet clear, plain-English information can still be hard to find. Too much content is out of date, buried in jargon, or quietly trying to sell a product.
Smart Money Answers turns the questions UK households actually search for into practical guides you can act on: budgeting, saving and ISAs, tax allowances, pensions, debt, mortgages, bills and long-term investing basics.
Who it is for
People who want a sensible next step — not a 40-page textbook. Students, renters, first-time buyers, parents and anyone rebuilding after a money setback. You do not need to be a finance professional; you do need accurate UK figures and honest limits.
How guides are produced
Each hub introduces a topic. In-depth articles expand key tips with worked examples, checklists, common mistakes and FAQs. We write in British English and label the 2026/27 tax year on articles so you know which rules we are describing.
Figures are checked against official and impartial sources (especially GOV.UK and MoneyHelper). Read how we keep guides current for the full process.
What we are not
We are not a bank, lender, broker or FCA-regulated advice firm. We do not provide personalised financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and we cannot take account of your full circumstances. For decisions that materially affect your future — especially pensions, investments, mortgages and serious debt — use official tools and consider a qualified, FCA-regulated professional.
How we're funded
Guides are free to read. The site may show advertising (including Google AdSense) and may include affiliate links in future. Advertising does not decide which tips we publish. Until ad units are fully configured, empty advertisement panels are hidden so the guides come first.
